Prof. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, PhD

It is a pleasure to recommend Mahbubul Haq Bhuiyan, currently working as a Lecturer of CSE in Southeast University (SEU). I have known Mahbub since 2022, when he enrolled in one of my courses as a student just to experience my teaching pedagogy first hand in my previous university. Being inspired by the course, he started using the special question-based-learning (QBL) pedagogy when he started to teach. Since then, he has been teaching the Python programming language using the QBL pedagogy that I launched. He has also published a paper with me that focuses on the evaluation of the QBL pedagogy on students at the tertiary level. 

Currently Mahbub is working on two funded projects with me in Southeast University, where the expected outcome is two Q1/Q2 journal papers. Other than research activities, Mahbub helped me coordinate different workshops I took, from “Teacher’s Appreciation Workshop” organized in BUET, “How to Think” workshop organized in SEU, “Graduate Readiness for Industry Placement” workshop organized in IUB etc. Recently, a specialized course dedicated to faculty members in SEU was organized by me, where I taught the faculty members from different departments the programming language “Python” and how to take classes more interactively. Mahbub helped me there as well to coordinate the course where senior faculty members, such as chairpersons of different departments, were present.

Lastly, during the period of 2022-2024, I believe that Mahbub has developed a lot in soft skills, and he’s ready to take upcoming challenges and takes them as efficiently and strategically as possible.
